Harris DX-10 transmitter

"Yours Truly" preparing to take a set of meter readings on the Harris DX-10 transmitter. This transmitter is completely solid-state and it is capable of producing up to 11 kW of carrier with more than 125% modulation on positive peaks. The control panel actually features a block diagram of the transmitter, with a bi-color LED showing the status of each section. If everything is working properly, the LED is green. A fault condition turns the LED red, while a marginal parameter in any section of the transmitter will turn the LED amber. The red LED to the bottom left shows that the transmitter was operating under local control. As a throwback to the pre-deregulation era, meter readings are still required every half hour for field test and experimental broadcast stations.
